German Cockroaches

German Cockroaches are a species of cockroach that live indoors and they travel easily between places in boxes, bags, and second hand appliances. They can innocently be bought into a property in transferred goods and if left untreated, they can multiply rapidly and quickly become a health issue.

They live and breed in kitchen appliances such as dishwashers, refrigerators, microwaves, stoves and coffee machines and will live anywhere where it’s warm and humid and there’s a chance of food. There are 30-40 live baby cockroaches in one German cockroach egg case and they are prolific breeders.

Unfortunately, no pesticide can penetrate the egg case, and there may be many eggs laid in concealed areas. Some heavy infestations will require one or two follow up treatments.

Our German Cockroach service is specifically designed to flush out and eradicate all living German Cockroaches and leave a residual pesticide product in place for other hatching cockroaches to come into contact with. We use targeted products specifically designed for German cockroaches which contain insect growth regulators.

Additional Information

A German cockroach treatment, depending on the level of infestation, can take between 1-2 hours. We will require clear access to all areas where German cockroaches have been sighted.

Place all food items and food utensils away in cupboards or in the refrigerator as applicable. You do not have to clear out your cupboards. We will inspect and treat all cracks and crevices where German cockroaches are living including behind and underneath, where accessible, dishwashers, refrigerators, microwave ovens, stores.

Kitchen cupboards, draws, pantries will be inspected and treated also as required.

Wet weather has no effect on this treatment as this service is carried out inside of the home.

This service is for German cockroaches only and does not include treatment of any other pests.

Payment is required on the day of service – we accept cash, eftpos, visa and mastercard and cheque.

Unfortunately no warranty can be offered for this treatment as it is difficult to assess how many eggs have been laid in concealed areas. If there is a heavy infestation a follow up treatment is often recommended within two weeks. This is offered at a reduced rate if carried out within two weeks.

What to expect after your service?

On the day of treatment we flush all the living German Cockroaches we can find out of their harbourage areas and kill them. A residual pesticide with an Insect Growth Regulator is left in place to keep working after we finish. When mopping your kitchen floor, please stay at least 10cm out from the skirting boards to ensure the residual pesticide is not disturbed for as long as possible.

After your service you may still see German Cockroaches emerging from concealed areas. They will die shortly after coming into contact with the pesticide or you can spray any remaining ones directly with a can of pesticide spray.

A German Cockroach egg contains 30-40 live baby cockroaches and as no pesticide can penetrate the egg casing, and there may be hundreds of eggs laid in concealed areas that we cannot access, these eggs will hatch over the next few weeks. If there is a severe infestation and there are quite a number of cockroaches that hatch, you will require another follow-up treatment to be completed. If this is conducted within 2 weeks of your initial treatment, we offer a discounted price. After 2 weeks the normal service price will apply. Please stay in contact with our office if you have any concerns.
