Ground dwelling spiders live underground in burrows and often wander and hunt for food or a mate. They do not live in webs suspended above the ground. Common ground dwelling spiders in Sydney are funnel webs, mouse spiders, trapdoors and wolf spiders. They are venomous and do deliver a painful bite however only the funnel web’s bite is fatal.
If you have seen a ground dwelling spider wandering over the ground outside or inside your home, there’s a chance there are more of them around and it may be time to consider having a Ground Dwelling spider treatment completed. Especially if it’s a funnel web. If you are bitten by a funnel web, call an ambulance immediately as you will need to get to hospital for the antivenom injection as soon as possible. These bites are fatal if not treated.

Our ground dwelling Spider Treatment involves a thorough spray treatment to all external ground and garden areas around the home where ground dwelling spiders may be living. Ground dwelling spiders live in burrows beneath the soil, in gardens and under logs and rocks. The Spiders included in the treatment are Funnel Web Spiders, Wolf Spiders, Trapdoor Spiders and Mouse Spiders.
Additional Information
The Ground Dwelling Spider Treatment usually takes about 1 hour to complete depending on the size of the property. We will require access to all external areas around the home including any sheds you wish to be treated. Please unlock any gates.
Please remove any items outside that are covering any ground areas to ensure an effective treatment can take place. This could involve shoes, kids toys, garden furniture and any general items stored outside. Pets need to be secured inside the home whilst the treatment is in progress. Please cut the grass before we come to ensure we can get good penetration of the pesticide into the soil. Please also remove any washing from external clotheslines to give us clear access.

If it’s lightly raining at the time of your service, we will still be able to carry out this service. The rain water will carry the pesticide deeper into the soil where the spiders live.
Cockroaches, webbing spiders above ground level, nesting ants, wasps, bees, rodents, termites, fleas, birds and possums.
Payment is required on the day of service – we accept cash, eftpos, visa and mastercard and cheque.
3 months provided the ground areas around the home are not disturbed.
What to expect after your service?
This service is the best possible treatment for Ground Dwelling Spiders. Please note that it is impossible to lift every rock and log on your property to apply the treatment but our Inspector will give all the accessible ground areas a thorough spray to enable the pesticide to seep into the soil where Ground Dwelling Spiders live. Be aware that spiders may be out and about after our treatment, so please stay inside. After this service is completed please leave the treated areas undisturbed for 48 hours to enable the pesticide to have effect. Please do not walk over treated areas until they have dried and do not let pets into the yard for 24 hours.
